My name is Alexandra (usually just Alex). The title of this blog came from Moyashimon, or to be precise from the picture you see on the left. For reasons I can’t quite fathom now, I decided that this girl wearing tattered clothes with several deadly viruses hopping all about her as she hitchhiked her way to Japan was somehow representative of my own stumbling journey through these cartoons and comics from the East. No, I don’t exactly know what that means either but like so many things it sounded good at the time.
My tastes are pretty varied. I’ll try just about anything from any demographic or genre and I enjoy the hilariously bad almost as much a the genuinely good. It’s hard for me to pick my favorite titles but if I was stranded on a deserted island with a solar powered TV and DVD player… well first I’d try to use it to call for help or build a flying robot… but after that I’d want these anime with me:
Cowboy Bebop, Gurren Lagann, Space Pirate Captain Harlock, Dennou Coil, Kaiji, Gunbuster, Diebuster, Macross: Do You Remember Love?, Moyashimon, Haibane Renmei, Aria, Ghibli movies, Satoshi Kon movies and Revolutionary Girl Utena.
If my DVD player just happened to come with a waterproof bookshelf hopefully it would contain: Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, 20th Century Boys, One Piece, Aria, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Black Jack and most importantly of all a manga wilderness survival guide.
Welcome to blogging! I see it’s only been 2 months for you, but I sure hope you have fun!
I like the “marooned on a Deserted Island” idea but if it’s solar powered…
*ominous strings*
doesn’t that mean there’s no Late-Night Anime for you?
Maybe try to get a double-sale on a Lunar-powered device as well.
Just as blissmo said, welcome to blogging! Although saying that would make me a hyprocrite, since I also am new to blogging (just yesterday to be exact). Nice to meet you!
Hey there, just dropping by to say that We Remember Love turned a month old yesterday. It’s been a great rush and I’m letting you know that I hold you personally responsible for the awesomeness I’m feeling. Thanks.
awsome blog
